Weekend retreat with Geshe YongDong
Geshe YongDong returns to Haida Gwaii, this time for a weekend meditation retreat at Sun Studio.
This teaching retreat focuses on the Tibetan Yungdrung Bön methods to heal and balance the five element energies of space, air, fire, water and earth in our body, emotion and minds.
TEACHINGS
Geshe YongDong will be teaching from the ancient Yungdrung Bon text “Ma Gyud” (Mother Tantra). This text contains methods for balancing and healing the energies of the five elements.
The five elements are sacred, fundamental energies of existence in the practitioners own body as the channels, breath energies, seminal essences, and sacred seed syllables of the energy body.
These methods and practices are used for the development of positive qualities and capacities, and for the elimination of negative qualities.
From the five elements arise the five senses and wisdoms, the five extensions of the body and they are also the five primary vital energies.
The weekend includes teachings, transmissions, and guided practice.
SCHEDULE
Friday April 26: 6:30pm - 9pm
Evening teachings, introduction to the five elements.
Saturday April 27: 11:30am - 5:30pm
Teachings and guided meditations from "Ma Gyud" with an hour lunchbreak early afternoon.
Sunday April 28: 9am - 4:30pm
Continued teachings and meditations with an hour lunch break and short morning and afternoon tea breaks.
