Healing Body, Mind and SpiriT
TIBETAN BON HEALING PRACTICES WITH LAMA GESHE YONGDONG
Sunday June 24
All human beings have a natural desire for balance in their lives and according to ancient Tibetan Bön texts, treatment for unbalance or disturbances is based on healing the spiritual, emotional and physical portions of our lives. In Tibetan culture, the way to heal them is using healing and purification methods that have been passed down for over six thousand years.
In the Yungdrung Bon lineage there are methods to purify illnesses that technology and knowledge cannot cure or fix, and there are skills that teach us how to accept the diseases and sicknesses that we cannot cure by any method.
Body, Mind & Spirit
Our life would be much easier, healthier, and happier if we could free ourselves from ignorance, anger, and desire-attachment. This is true both with regard to our mind, and with regard to our body and feelings. When we take care of the mind, our body and feelings will experience healing also.
Bon healing practice works on the body, mind and spirit. It can help us clear physical illness as well as disturbances in our mind and our feelings. On the physical level, once we master a healing practice, we have the power to heal a variety of illnesses and pain.
In this weekend teaching retreat, GesheLa will focus on the Tibetan Bon healing practices for the body, the mind and the spirit:
Healing methods for the body will include Tsa Lung movement, a breathing technique and chanting mantras.
To help heal the mind and emotions, he will instruct and guide participants in healing meditations, and share a method to help heal anger and practice forgiveness.
For healing our spirit students will learn a five element practice and a powerful Sidpe Gyalmo water healing ritual.
About the Teacher, Lama Geshe YongDong
Geshe YongDong began his life in a small village within the vast Tibetan plateau. Through an amazing series of events he made his way to the west coast of British Columbia to become the first and only Tibetan Bon Buddhist Lama teaching in Canada. He arrived with nothing but the wealth of teachings he received from his Tibetan Bon master and the desire to share them with Western Students.
He is the spiritual director and founder of Tibetan Buddhist centers in Canada, Costa Rica and Columbia. He has authored several books and papers in the Tibetan language and ‘Calm Breath Calm Mind, A Guide to the Healing Power of Breath’ in English.
His wish is to help people learn methods to find peace, happiness and health with the ancient teachings he has been privileged to receive.
